Roll-up mattresses – Purpose
You have probably heard of roll-up mattresses being referred to as mattress protectors or comfort pads, which makes sense as that is exactly what they are designed for. A roll-up mattress is a very thin type of mattress (max. 1 cm) meant to be placed between the topper or mattress and the sheet. Typically, a roll-up mattress features four elastic corners that are pulled over the corners of the topper to ensure the mattress stays smooth and in place. By using a roll-up mattress, you protect the bed's other mattresses from moisture, bacteria, and dirt released by the body during the night. This significantly extends the lifespan of the other mattresses. For optimal sleeping comfort, we always recommend roll-up mattresses made from 100% cotton, as these are much more breathable and comfortable than synthetic materials. Here, you will find roll-up mattresses for single beds, but at HOME-TEX, we also offer roll-up mattresses in many other sizes – see them all here.
Maintaining roll-up mattresses
Roll-up mattresses are extremely easy to maintain as they can be washed in a washing machine. After washing, the roll-up mattress should be air-dried. Stretch the mattress by pulling the ends and sides a few times during drying to minimize shrinkage and retain its shape. In our range of roll-up mattresses, you will find models that can withstand high temperatures, which kill bacteria and dust mites to maintain a healthy sleep environment.
Quality mattresses
Under the roll-up mattress, there is usually a mattress or topper that forms the foundation for optimal sleep.
The right mattress should support your sleeping position, ensuring your body, particularly your back and neck, is not strained. The mattress should provide support where needed and allow the rest of your body to sink in so that your spine remains as straight as possible. This creates the best resting position. A mattress is an investment in quality of life, as it contributes to optimal sleep and should be well cared for. If the mattress does not provide the desired comfort, it can be improved with a topper. A topper enhances the mattress's properties and can further improve your sleep quality. Choose quality products that create the best conditions for a good night's sleep.
