A mattress protector is also aptly called a mattress protector as its primary function is to safeguard the bed's mattresses. Using a mattress protector not only shields the top mattress from moisture, dirt, and bacteria, but it also extends the lifespan of the other mattresses in your bed. When selecting your new mattress protector, it is beneficial to consider whether it has elastics in the corners. These are designed to be securely fitted over the mattress topper, ensuring that your mattress protector remains in place, even if you tend to move during sleep.

Maintenance

Mattress protectors can be easily machine washed, keeping them free from bacteria and dust mites effortlessly. The ability to wash a mattress protector means you can maintain a cleaner and healthier sleeping environment. A mattress protector should never be tumble dried; instead, allow it to hang freely and air dry. While the mattress protector is drying, we recommend stretching it repeatedly to maintain its shape. Stretching out the mattress protector during drying reduces its shrinkage.

The mattress protector may shrink during washing (5-9%), so it is important to stretch it as it dries.

Boil-proof mattress protectors

All our mattress protectors can be machine washed, and some are capable of withstanding extra high wash temperatures for a boil-proof clean. This can be particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers or those predisposed to allergies.
