This luxury down duvet is made of 100% Icelandic eiderdown. The cover of this exquisite duvet is made from the finest cashmere wool and exceptionally fine cotton, together creating the perfect framework for this outstanding eiderdown duvet. The small, fine eiderdown interlocks naturally, preventing separation, which contributes to its exceptional tog rating and superb insulation. Eiderdown is the type of down that boasts the highest tog rating/cuin, corresponding to 16/1100. The higher the tog rating, the finer the down used, and nothing surpasses eiderdown. This also makes eiderdown the warmest and, at the same time, the lightest raw material worldwide. The down is obtained from eider ducks inhabiting the cliff sides of Iceland, and it is collected by hand. The eider duck resides in the wild and in limited regions, resulting in a much more restricted supply of eiderdown compared to other types of down. The small, fine down is gathered from the nests once the ducklings have left. The down that remains in the nests is collected, dried, and cleaned manually using a down harp. This is craftsmanship at its finest. For those who have yet to experience an eiderdown duvet - extend both hands with your palms facing upward - and close your eyes. A 'ball' of eiderdown will be gently placed in one of your hands. With your eyes still closed, you might not notice which hand received the 'ball'. After a few moments, you'll realise that one palm feels warmer - this is the incredible insulating property of eiderdown - so light that you couldn't discern the hand holding it. - Imagine the luxury of sleeping under such a duvet.
